CASE Tool 2-1: A Risk Evaluation Checklist CASE
This tool provides one way for you to act in both a preventative and proactive way prior to starting a project in your office. The purpose is to evaluate risk by considering a variety of factors and perspectives and to determine whether the risk(s) of the pursuit is a worthwhile investment of firm resources.
Each evaluation question is given a 'rating' and 'weight' which in turn provides a score for that question. The scores are tabulated and summarized in a variety of ways in the final worksheet. The scores can be summarized by category to provide feedback on which categories are overwhelmingly favorable or unfavorable for a particular pursuit. Each firm can customize the Evaluations Questions in order to best align with their needs. There is no absolute "Go / No Go" score for any given pursuit; the tool is more intended to help identify strengths and weaknesses based on how the categories relate to one another.
