Description
The U.S. Department of Labor has issued a new Rule that expands the scope of work and workers who will be subject to the prevailing wage requirements of the Davis-Bacon Act. This new Rule contains specific guidance relating to survey crews. Engineering firms need to know which of their employees are defined as ‘laborers and mechanics’ who are covered by Davis-Bacon and to understand what will be required to comply with Davis-Bacon if they are covered.
Andy Martone with the law firm Hesse Martone will brief participants on the updated regulations and help them understand when they apply to engineering firm employees.
After attending this session, participants will:
- Have a basic understanding of the principles of Davis-Bacon and the projects to which it applies.
- Learn the U.S. Department of Labor’s new test for when a survey worker is covered by Davis-Bacon.
- Better understand what it means to be covered by Davis-Bacon and how Davis-Bacon will affect their work.
