If you're alive and breathing, you're likely inundated with terms like Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Bias daily. At work, in the media and in many social settings on a regular basis.
However, if you don’t feel solid about their definitions, it may be difficult to feel confident when communicating about sensitive subjects.
This (refresher) workshop is designed to meet participants where they are and lay the groundwork for a "real world" understanding of, and the application of diversity and inclusion.
We will clearly define diversity terms and provide examples of how they show up in the workplace. We will also begin the journey of building confidence around complex conversations and discuss what "applying" your DEI education can actually look like.
During this Session:
- We’ll share an overview of current and trending DEI terminology, as well as discuss the labels and assumptions we use to define others
- Identify how DEI Skills benefit EVERYONE (inside and outside the workplace)
- Examine how "Culture" shapes the way we see the world and our directs our interactions with each other
- Use our own “identities” as conduit to understand the experiences of others
- Introduce Inclusive Dialogue for speaking confidently about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
