EJCDC 2016 D-500 is a contract for the Owner’s retention of the services of a design professional consultant that will assist the Owner in preparing the design-build procurement documents (RFQ, RFP, price proposal form); the design-build conceptual documents; the project’s other contract documents; and may assist the Owner in evaluating and selecting the design-builder. At the Owner’s option, the scope of the Owner’s Consultant’s services in the Agreement may be expanded to include additional services, such as assisting the Owner during the design and construction of the project. The Owner’s Consultant is NOT the project’s design professional of record. The model scope of services in EJCDC D-500 was revised in 2016 to reflect better the typical services of an Owner’s Consultant in design-build project delivery.
