This document provides a sample agreement that may be used when the MEP Engineer of Record (MEPR) retains the services of another Consulting Design Professional.
This sample agreement features:
- A Form of Agreement
- An Exhibit that defines the Summary of Services
- An Exhibit defining the Terms and Conditions of the Agreement.
The purpose of this document is to provide an agreement for retaining the services of an Architect or other consulting design professional. Two alternatives of Exhibit A - Summary of Services, are provided. One is for use when retaining the services of an Architect, and the other is for retaining the services of a Consulting Design Professional (CDP) of any other discipline. The Exhibit A used for retaining Architectural Services is developed in detail when the scope of services is extensive enough to be expressed in phases. The other Exhibit A could assume a similar format but, at the user's option, could be simpler in form when the nature of services is more limited and a general description of the service can be provided.
This document is similar to, and compatible with CAMEE Tool 7-2. It is therefore convenient for the MEPR to use to retain the services of a CDP, when the prime agreement is CAMEE Tool 7-2. It may also be used as the agreement with SubCDPs when the MEPR is a CDP to an Architect or other Design Professional.
