CAMEE Contract 7-1: Agreement between MEP Engineer and Client for Limited Professional Services
The purpose of this document is to provide a sample agreement for small projects or investigations.
This sample Agreement features:
- A Form of Agreement which includes a provision for Scope of Services
- Terms and Conditions of the Agreement.
This short form, two-page agreement is recommended for use on small projects, with limited scope of service, where the work will be performed within a relatively short time frame. It contains the essentials of a good agreement including scope of service, fee arrangements, and terms and conditions. It may be used as an agreement between the Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer (MEP) and client, architect, or owner. Since this document may often be used for special or limited services on projects where the MEP Engineer is not the MEP Engineer of Record (MEPR), the designation MEP is used in lieu of MEPR throughout the document. The form may be modified to use the term MEPR when this is an accurate representation of the services being provided.
Even though this agreement is intended for small projects of short duration, it is important that a complete and accurate description of the project be included in the Project Name and Location. Further, the Scope of Services should be clear and complete.
