More than 9 out of 10 construction companies have job openings–almost just as many struggle to fill them, according to the AGC’s August survey.
Hinge Research Institute’s study explains why. Since the pandemic, 1 out of 5 employees have quit because of frustration with leadership and company culture. Most are mid-career professionals with much-needed experience and expertise for infrastructure projects, not to firms’ future leadership ranks.
What should firms do to draw and keep these hard-to-find professionals? Hinge partner Karl Feldman and account director Katy Pultz will walk through Hinge’s latest research findings on AEC top talent, as well as practices and policies that have helped some AEC firms maintain a deep bench of experts in an industry where quitting–and quiet quitting–are both rife. Spoiler alert: transforming experts from ordinary experts to luminaries who drum up business is a key strategy.
Karl and Katy will cover practices and programs firms can implement in the immediate and long-term to ensure they have the capability to grow the business.
